God Loves A Cheerful Giver: Flawed & Free Community Outreach
The Bible teaches us in 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 that God loves a cheerful giver. In this passage of scripture, we learn the importance of giving from what is in our hearts and not from a space of obligation. Being a holy spirit-led organization, we at Flawed & Free have made the decision to dedicate our time, talents, and efforts to giving with the same heart posture that is discussed in 2 Corinthians. This is an expectation and an honor to serve as a follower of Christ. Serving the people of God in our communities takes great precedence in how we live our day-to-day lives.
As a team, Flawed & Free partnered with The Mission Arlington and spent a few hours out of our day to volunteer and assist with the move of God that is taking place at The Mission. We began our day by donating many personal items from each team member including but not limited to clothing, shoes, books, purses, items both new and old, baby food, furniture, and toys to name a few. Once we were finished with our personal donations, we then moved into serving by volunteering in whatever areas they were most in need. There is strength in numbers and we saw the manifestation of that in our service to the people of God. We were able to testify, minister, fellowship, and pray with others as we joined hands and hearts in advancing the kingdom of God.
If you or someone you know is in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and looking for a Christian entity/establishment to donate your time and items, I highly recommend The Mission Arlington, it is the perfect place.
The word of God in Galatians 6:7-9 speaks to the kingdom principle of reaping and sowing. The body of Christ has interpreted this primarily as a monetary act of obedience and reward. But the Lord rejoices and blesses us all the MORE when we give and sow down versus up. What do I mean by this??? Planting a seed with your heart and sacrificing your time and treasures can go a lot farther than a few coins into an offering plate. Giving to those less fortunate than ourselves, sowing into those in need, to the poor and homeless, to those who cannot give back to you, pleases God MORE because you are giving to HIM when you give with this type of heart posture. God is concerned about those that are poor and in need of him and is always searching for those that will serve with his heart in his name.
